MGP

Because MGP sites are usually large, complicated, deep, stinky and located in urban environs, they pose special challenges to remedial designers. Creosote, BTEX, and PAHs are among the many extraordinary compounds embodied in the viscous, sticky mess known as coal tar. The most popular remedial process has been excavation (only to groundwater) and thermal treatment or off-site disposal. DTI, employing Cool-Ox® Technology, holds a patent teaching the emulsification of coal tar that renders it pumpable by conventional vacuum trucks and in the process, kills the odors.
