Technical Sales Representative

 

Job Description

As a Sales Representative, you will provide sales and technical support for our complete line of soil and groundwater remediation technologies, including our field services group. Successful candidates will possess a strong technical background and problem-solving skills.

 

Responsibilities for Sales include:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our services and pricing structure

  • Promote our environmental solutions

  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business

  • Complete scheduled and cold-call prospecting activities in order to schedule follow-up appointments with key decision makers

  • Conduct technical sales presentations to prospective clients

  • Deliver sales proposals

  • Manage a pipeline of projects to meet company goals

  • Attend conferences/trade shows and workshops

  • Help clients set remedial goals

  • Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly

  • Other duties, as assigned

 

Job Requirements

To be successful in this position, you must have a competitive spirit that enjoys working in a fast-paced consultative selling environment. Intellectual curiosity with the willingness to learn is critical to success in this position. In addition, excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed as is a passion for public speaking. 

 

Strong candidates will possess the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-Motivation with the ability to work and meet goals with limited supervision*

  • Public speaking experience preferred

  • The ability to travel to meet clients and manage projects

  • Ability to establish priorities and exhibit effective time management skills

  • Previous cold-calling experience

  • Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills

  • Consultative selling experience preferred but not required

  • Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company

  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

  • Experience with groundwater and soil remediation

  • Experience with in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) and in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR) technologies

  • Additional skills may be required

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success, preferably in the environmental remediation industry

*Although our corporate headquarters is in the Chicago area, candidates will be allowed to work remotely from their residence.
